Game Devs of Color Expo
Game Devs of Color Expo is a non-profit organization dedicated to amplifying and empowering developers of color in the gaming industry. I joined the team to provide graphic design support across all channels and platforms, with the goal of creating a unified and distinct visual presence that embodies their mission.
2025 Conference Theme
For this year’s annual conference, I collaborated with creative director Brian Carr to develop an overarching visual theme centered around resilience and boldness, which served as the foundation for all event-related design work.
The goal was to create a versatile key visual that could be adapted across multiple platforms, including social media, print materials, and motion graphics — ensuring consistency in branding while allowing flexibility for different formats.
The theme translated across auxiliary events, which maintained a cohesive look while still standing out as unique experiences.
This helped reinforce the event’s identity and message throughout the entire conference experience, especially when shared by external partners like the NYC Mayor’s Office, Make Games Fast, and event participants.
Communications Design
Throughout the year leading up to the conference, I worked closely with communications teams to create social media and email marketing assets that helped meet performance goals, strengthened internal workflows, and boosted community engagement.
I designed newsletter headers based around event themes and seasonal illustrations and created eye-catching YouTube thumbnails using Figma and Illustrator, which led to a 49.5% increase in viewership.
